Greenkeeper

Roles & Tasks

To properly care and maintain the greens of the Club and to operate, maintain and care for the machinery and equipment provided by the Club;
Further to the basic tasks, the greenkeeper should be aware of the requirements to have the greens cut and/or rolled and prepared for competitive play as required by the Club;
To work in co-operation with the Club's Greens Superintendent with respect to green keeping task to comply with the Clubs program of events;
To be responsible for the correct presentation of greens whilst the Superintendent shall be responsible for setting out events programming; and
To be responsible for the correct care maintenance of machinery and associated implements.

Volunteers

Derwent City Bowls Club runs a Volunteer Involvement Program.

Recognition of Volunteer Involvement
Each year the Club formally recognises and rewards it’s volunteers for their contribution to the support and promotion of the services of the Bowls Club.

Vision
A future in which the Bowls Club enjoys the ongoing support and commitment of the members through volunteers who actively contribute to special projects that enhance the promotion of lawn bowls

Mission
To offer the members an opportunity to share an active role in supporting and promoting the services of the Bowls Club through an effective and innovative volunteer program which provides a fair, safe and enjoyable working environment.

The Volunteer Involvement Program will:

Provide a welcoming environment for volunteers;
Value and recognise the work of their volunteers;
Have well prepared, committed people who share visions and goals;
Respond to member and customer needs;
Plan their operations and activities;
Want to continually improve; and
Provide better places for people to be active.

Twilight bowls
Corporate bowls
Functions
Bar
Fundraising
Working Bees
Cleaning

Willing volunteers are drawn into relevant rosters for the bowls season. Each year we seek to identify the specific skills of members so that when tasks are identified for completion within the Club resources are available to be drawn upon.
