Pennant Bowls

Ladies Pennant

The outdoor lawn bowls season runs from September until mid April.

Games are held on Thursday’s from 11.00am – 3.30pm.  Pennant days require uniform to be worn.

Scheduled practice is held on Tuesday from 9.00am.  However, you are free to practice any time the greens are available.

Club Championships are open to A Grade, B Grade and Junior members.  Pennant bowls also provides the opportunity to compete in the southern and state championships with the potential for selection to compete interstate

Team Selection
Pennant teams are selected each Tuesday and are available to view on the noticeboard within the Club from Tuesday onwards each week.

There are a number of different divisions for various abilities and teams are selected based upon player experience/performance and availability.  Each divisional team has a selector and a match manager who looks after the administrative team functions for each game.

If you are not available on a particular Thursday you must advise the Club selector as soon as possible so that a replacement can be arranged. Teams often travel together in a car pool for away games to keep costs down and to promote team unity.

Mens' Pennant

The outdoor lawn bowls season runs from September until mid April.

There is a mid-week and weekend competition for men.  Weekend games are held on Saturday 12.30 – 4.30pm and mid-week games are held on Wednesday 12.30 – 4.30pm.  Pennant days require Club uniform to be worn.

Scheduled practice is held on Tuesday & Thursday nights anytime from 3.00pm with the majority beginning between 5.00 – 6.00pm.  However, you are free to practice any time the greens mensare available.

Twilight Bowls is a casual & fun bare foot bowls roster for the novice or recreational bowler.

Rosters run for approximately 10 weeks.  The first runs from October – December and another runs from January – March. 

Games are held on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 6.00-8.00pm.  You can select the rostered evening that best suits your team.  Games consist of twelve ends.twilight

 

Teams are made up of four people.  Form a team of friends, family or colleagues.  If you don’t have your own team we will endeavour to put one together for you.   

Bowls and equipment are supplied and coaching/guidance is provided.  Weekly prizes are drawn for winning and loosing teams, and are awarded for any outstanding behaviour – both skilful and ridiculous! 

A sausage sizzle is provided every week and participants may enjoy refreshments during the game.

Twilight Super Pairs

We hold an annual one-day tournament for Twilight bowlers to give you a taste for the game of pairs and the chance to win prize money!

Held on a Sunday, the format is a random draw with 3 games of 15 ends.  Entries are limited to 36 pairs.

Social Bowls

The Club conducts organised games of bowls for businesses or social groups (groups of friends).

You may play either Outdoor Lawn Bowls (September – April) or Indoor Carpet Bowls (all year).

Games are as casual or as serious as you wish.  We will help you to organise the format and provide coaching and guidance to get you started.  Bowls and equipment are provided and catering is available.

Carpet Bowls

 

Summer Carpet Bowls

The Club participates in summer Indoor Pennant Bowls competitions (October to March).  Summer pennant involves mixed teams (men and ladies).

You must have a Social Activities club membership to participate in indoor pennant.  The summer roster incorporates a nominal weekly fee (approximately $2-$3) for an end of season social activity. 

Summer pennant games are held on Monday nights from 7.15-11.00pm.  There are no formal practice sessions.

Unlike outdoor pennant there are no divisions requiring formalised selection processes each week.  Whether or not you play depends on your availability.  Teams often travel together in a car pool for away games.

No uniform is required, although it may be preferred for team members to wear Club shirts.  Bowling (or flat soled, no grip) shoes are required.

Winter Carpet Bowls

The Club participates in winter Indoor Pennant Bowls competitions (April to August).  Winter pennant involves ladies and men’s teams. 

You must have a Social Activities club membership to participate in indoor pennant.  The winter roster incorporates an initial registration fee (approximately $16) for the season.

Winter pennant games are held as follows:
Men’s midweek Wednesday 12.00-4.00pm
Men’s Wednesday 7.00-10.30pm
Ladies two options on Thursday’s, either 12.00-4.00pm or 7.00-10.30pm. 

Winter practice is held as follows:
Men’s Monday 1.00-2.30pm 
Ladies Tuesday 12.00-2.30pm
